The peak of Florida's strawberry season is here, and Farmer Joe's Fresh Market is inviting everyone to join in the festivities at the Strawberry Festival on Saturday, March 4th starting at 10 a.m. The event will be a great opportunity to enjoy delicious food, have fun with activities for all ages, and learn about animal welfare. At the festival, you can find freshly prepared strawberry products such as strawberry pie, strawberry sauce and summer berry salad. There will also be unique products like strawberry wine and strawberry flavored goat cheese. Ritter Artwork will provide face painting services, while a bouncy house and obstacle course will give children a chance to have some fun.
For those with a competitive spirit, there will be a cake eating contest with prizes for the winners. The Strawberry Festival isn't just about having fun though. The Lee County Sheriff's Office will be present with its Animal Cruelty Task Force to educate attendees about animal welfare and what they can do to help. The Sheriff's Office will also offer fingerprinting services for children, which can be a useful tool in case of emergency.
